3D Texturing and Concept Render

Petaldrip Mug

Final render of the mug design

For the mug design, I used Blender to paint the light and dark green of the mug. I added text inside the mug that customers would see once they’re finished, convincing them to have more. A nice little detail that complements the light-hearted branding. I focus on the green aspect of the colour palette in this design, as I don’t usually use green—the beige complements it well, creating a soft contrast.

I added the Petaldrip logo and star design elements around the mug. I wanted to achieve a crafty-styled mug that seems hand-painted, so adding these design elements as decals instead of wrapping and design around the mug. I can then move the decals and place them wherever on the mug. I achieved this by adding the images and applying a shrinkwrap modifier to attach them to the mug.

Petaldrip Cup

Final render of the coffee cup.

For this cup design, I unwrapped the cylinder shape of the cup and added a design I created in Illustrator to fit around it. This took a few tries to get perfect, as the size of my design had to fit around the model cup. Unfortunately, the cup lid has a dark spot in the middle. I tried to resolve this issue and even remade it, but it reappeared. It did go away when I changed my render engine to EVEE instead of Cycles. However, Cycles make the models look better.

I designed a few layouts for the cup but landed on this final one with the horizontal text.

Petaldrip Bottle

Final bottle renders.

A milk glass inspired the bottle design for the Petaldrip coffee drinks bottle. I made the bottle glass using the shaders in Blender. At first, I created a label that wrapped around the bottle, but the background was see-through, giving it a sticker-like appearance, as seen in the final render. However, it created some extra lines and shapes on the bottle, so instead of using UV unwrapping, I added decals, similar to those on the mug.

Petaldrip Coffee bean bag

Unfortunately, I didn’t finish the bean bag design because I encountered numerous problems with UV unwrapping, painting, and other technical issues. I researched, remodelled, and redesigned to try to make this bag work, as I wanted to include it in my final animation; however, I ended up spending too much time on it and had to move on.

I believed I struggled so much because I had to add seams, which were more complex than those inthe last three products.

The painter not working on my model, I remade the model, unwrapped it and still had the same issue.
