I have done four information pages in the form of a website dedicated to April Hart and her books and brand. The choice of name for this made-up author was to fabricate a realistic but subtlely romantic name, staying in theme.
First I designed the layout for the website pages and details I want to involve throughout. I placed the main logo design in the top left corner of the page and added details like the bookmarks on the chosen website section. There is an ongoing slide at the very top of the page in dark grey, promoting an upcoming book. I have set up an ongoing live chat on the right side of the website page. The live chat will progress throughout each page from the perspective of a newcomer to the website. The newcomer is exploring the site and navigating what is to come on the next information page. For the background, I decided to go for an ombre style of coral and light pink colour. This is to add more depth and texture so not everything is just one solid colour as it would make the design very blocky and bland. The live chat is coloured in those pastel pinks to fabricate warm, welcoming feelings.

For the bio webpage, I depicted a subtle and mysterious illustration of the author. The bio itself is more joyous and funny to appeal to her demographic. To promote her work further, I created some rewards she received as well.

The next page is about April Hart’s books. I have a chat full of recommendations and opinions on the books to give the viewer more insight and a sense of community. I designed the books to look like they are on a bookshelf with only their spines facing us, having one or two falls between to break up the design. Wanting to make the style more playful. Each book’s name was inspired by my personal music.

Naturally progressing to the next website page, we land on a more detailed look at the book the viewer has chosen. When designing the soft spot book cover, I used pastel colours and sweet imagery to emphasise that soft spot title. I have then written a brief description of the story and some rewards the book has received. This is to promote the book and the author.

Then finally, the last page is focused on April Hart’s audiobooks. A fun addition to the books as all authors have audiobooks as well so she is keeping up with the demands of everyone but also of her aimed age group as it’s more popular with young people. I added a short and sweet explanation of how the audiobooks worked and some examples of where you can listen, focusing on my aimed age group. The live chat says bye to one another as the pages come to an end.
