In this post, I’ll be presenting what I want to achieve in the Hull Animal Welfare Trust rebrand.
Project Goals
First, I aim for the charity to present itself to be more fun-loving and lively. I plan to do this by incorporating a bright and stimulating colour palette, creating animal related illustrations and designing a more personalized logo.
Second, I want to emphasise accessibility within the charity’s website and branding, especially after discovering that elderly people are among the biggest donors to animal charities. To do this, I will add accessibility options on the website with bigger text and make the logo easy to read along with good colour contrast.
Finally, the website will be improved to be more coherent and easy to use, adding style to make it more eye-catching for the user. I’ll be adding features like call-to-action buttons to motivate the viewers to donate to the cause in any way they can.
Inspiration
For this project, I’m taking inspiration from RSPCA’s and Wild at Heart’s branding and web design.

I aim for the rebranding to be colourful and vivid similar to the RSPCA charity. In this webpage, the brands design elements are on showcase fabricating a more fun style in animal theme which is something I want to achieve. The simplicity of the website is another goal for my chosen charity as well.

The Wild at Heart’s branding and style is very different to RSPCA but again is very lively and creative. The website layout is to take inspiration from too as it work well and isn’t the typical layout. I especially like the sketchy design elements making the branding feel more softer which is my aim for my chosen charity.
Sketches

These are rough sketches of different ideas I have for the logo design and design elements. In reflection, I didn’t sketch out many ideas and could’ve explored more with the designs.
